It's Okay to Not Be Okay
The Story
Throughout my life, I have faced various challenges with mental health. There were times when I felt overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, struggling to find a safe space to express my feelings and fears. I witnessed first-hand the impact of mental health issues, not just on myself but on those around me, friends and family alike.
These experiences led me on a journey of self-discovery, seeking understanding and knowledge about mental health. I researched, read, and listened to personal stories of individuals who had faced similar struggles, finding comfort in knowing I was not alone. But I also realized that despite the progress made in society, there was still a significant stigma attached to mental health issues, preventing many from seeking help or even talking openly about their struggles.
It started as a doodle in class at school, but I never imagined that this doodle would become a turning point in my life. It became a powerful symbol of hope and healing, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is a way to find light and mend what is broken. I felt a calling to share this vision with the world and to use it as a catalyst for change.
As I started to open up about my own mental health journey, I noticed a remarkable transformation. The more I spoke, the more people reached out to me, sharing their stories and expressing gratitude for my courage and honesty. It became evident that by sharing my experience, I was creating a safe and welcoming space for others to do the same.
My passion for eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health is growing stronger with each passing day. My aim is to bring my doodle and vision to life and to become the centrepiece of my advocacy efforts within my clothing.
Through our determination and dedication, I hope to turn our personal struggles into a force for positive change. I wish for this brand to become an influential advocate for mental health, inspiring you to seek help, offer support, and embrace vulnerability.
Our journey and mission as a community is to show the world that standing together, we can lead a movement of hope, empathy, and healing in the face of mental health challenges.
Look after yourself and one another.
